Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Bundle - In Stock

Square Enix announced the FFVII Crisis Core 10th Anniversary PSP bundle at the Playstation Premiere event earlier this year and the news spread around the world in a twinkling. NCS opened up preorders about a month afterwards and garnered a fair share of reservations. By our count, we scored ~1% of the production of the FFVII PSP Bundle today. The following items are included in each limited edition box:

» Silver PSP-2000 - The new redesigned version that's sleeker and sexier
» Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII game

» Stubby silver Buster Sword cell phone stray that's pudgy but sexy
» Regulation issue battery charger with zero sex appeal

The limited edition PSPs are serially numbered from 00000 to 77777 and we're guessing someone important at Square Enix is going to keep 00000 for himself but one of the unwashed has probably got a shot at 00001 and 77777.

All preorders and new orders for the bundles are shipping today. If you received an email about a transaction being declined yesterday or this morning, please feel free to submit new billing details before 4PM EST and we'll be able to get your order out today as well.

Spoilers Ahead
The spiky-haired Zack Fair is a Soldier Second Class in the employ of the Shinra Electric Power Company. Young, strong, and impressionable, Zack is a member of a private army known as SOLDIER that works for Shinra Power. Zack aspires to become a Soldier First Class which is an elite branch of SOLDIER where the best of the best are assigned. At the outset of the game, Zack engages in a thrilling virtual reality sequence where he races across the top of a train, battles soldiers, and flies through the air to disconnect some train cars from the main caboose group. The sequence is entirely CG with some beautiful visuals to appreciate.

Soon after the VRS sequence, Zack is summoned to a briefing room where his supervisor named Lazard gives him an assignment. A Soldier First Class named Genesis has gone missing along with a number of other elite soldiers. Zack is to investigate their disappearance and determine what has happened. He is allowed to bring a Turk with him and their first area of exploration is a mountainous region in Wutai...

Crisis Core: FFVII takes place before the events of the original Final Fantasy VII game and features a recognizable cast of characters which include Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, Aerith Gainsborough, Tifa Lockhart, Reno, Rude, and Yuffie Kisaragi. The whole gang's back...

Theta (Θ) - In Stock

Theta is the eighth letter of the Greek alphabet and looks like a gear. The kind that connects to other gears and spins to transfer rotational exertion. That's pretty much the basic theme of the Nintendo DS Theta game which collects two puzzlers as follows:

» Kaiten Puzzle: Rotate a gear to transfer two spheres located in each gear to another gear. The stylus is used in a circular motion to rotate the gears. It's a simple idea but the proper execution requires thought.
» Aquarium Puzzle: Colored bubbles waft lazily in the lower screen. The stylus is used to swish the bubbles in and out of three circles located on the touch screen. The goal is to arrange the bubbles inside the circles to match the patterns shown on three circles located on the top screen.

Yamasa Digi World SP Pachislot Sengoku Musou - In Stock

Sheath your sword and doff the armor from your breast. There'll be no bloodshed nor dismemberment today. Koei relinquishes control of the Sengoku Musou franchise this one time and gives Yamasa (the pachinko gaming company) free rein over the Warring States, legendary generals, and all that other good stuff.

Since Yamasa's specialty is pachinko, the company wraps a Sengoku Musou skin and theme over a regulation issue pachinko game and lets gamers have at it. Three game modes are featured - Encounter Mode, Simulation Mode, and Challenge Mode. A Museum Mode allows gamers to view the pachinko machines and the apparatus that makes them tick. For the uninitiated, pachislot refers slot machines which can be found in any casino. Players insert a credit, pull a virtual handle, and then watch the spinners roll. If lady luck smiles upon you, three of a kind will line up horizontally or diagonally and you'll win credits and collect medals.

Megazone 23 Blue Garland

Fans of the animation series Megazone 23 seeking closure won't find it in the new PS3 adventure. Shogo Yahagi from the original series is gone and replaced by a new hero named Hiroto Takanaka. Returning characters include Yui Takanaka, Eve Tokimatsuri, and B.D. Yui sports a pair of red eyes in the PS3 game and is back in her green hair which was seen in Megazone 23 Part 1. In Part 2 of the animation, she was brunette with hazel eyes. Eve looks like a stewardess in a tan/brown uniform and B.D. is an older version of his incarnation from Megazone 23 Part 2.

The game takes players to an alternate reality version of Megazone 23 Part I which is set 20 years after the conclusion of the first animated series. The bulk of the game is made up of interactive scenarios but there's a point and click traveling sequence dubbed Cockpit and a battle mode where fighting actions are selected from a menu. Once an action is chosen, the Garland throws out a slash attack or fires off a round of artillery.
