Star Wars Pepper Mill - Preorder

Have you ever sat in front of a steaming steak and muttered to yourself, "You know Francis, that steak needs some pepper and an R2-D2 pepper mill would be just the right tool to crush those peppercorns!"

Two Star Wars pepper mills made of ABS plastic and measuring 11cm (4.33") tall are on their way to the Japanese market on February 29, 2008. Both hold about 1 oz worth of peppercorns. To crush them, twist R2's dome and flakes of pepper obediently drop from its bottom. Two variants are on offer - a blue and white R2-D2 and a black and gold R2-Q5. Preorders are welcome at JPY1980 or US$19 each.

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Picnic Set - Preorder

Deep in the heart of New York City, picnics are rare. The concrete sidewalks aren't conducive to lazing about and the throngs of pedestrians are apt to trample over your little picnic basket and you along with it. Central Park is more suitable for picnics and we occasionally spot a few picnickers at the Sheep Meadow along with the sunbathers.
With that in mind, the Pokemon Picnic Set's target market is probably in Central Park and everywhere else outside of NYC. The set consists of two square boxes made of blue polyvinyl chloride which measure 22cm (8.66") square. You could probably make a "picnic set" of your own by buying Tupperware but then you'd miss out on the Pokemon magic. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late March 2008.

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Super DX Onemuri Makura

Rest your weary head on a Pokemon pillow and let the little beast's back hold up your melon-like noggin. While resting, allow the day's negative energy to slither away and dissipate as Pikachu or Pochama stands guard. Sort of. They look like they're sleeping too with their closed eyes. Each pillow measures 34cm or 13.38" in length and a little checkered jacket encloses them which is where you alight your head. Japanese lesson of the day: the word "onemuri" translates to "sleep" and "makura" means pillow. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late January 2008.

Early Import Releases Tomorrow; Japanese Holiday

NDS Mitsukete! Keroro Gunsou, PS2 Fantastic Fortune 2: Triple Star [Best Hit], and PSP Eiyuu Densetsu Sora no Kiseki SC were originally scheduled to arrive today since they were released early to Japanese distribution last Friday but our shipment was delayed a day. The three games will arrive tomorrow and all preorders will ship on Tuesday.

Today was a national holiday in Japan known as Autumn Equinox Day (Shubun no hi) where families visit the graves of relatives and pay their respects. Families burn incense and leave offerings of flowers and ohagi which are rice balls since the traditional view is that the spirits of our ancestors prefer round foods. In other words, hamburgers are anathema.
