Just as he's leaving the classroom, his teacher punishes him for a previous infraction by sending him to the library. Frogman Show DS - In Stock

Frogman is the name of a writer, character designer, animator, editor, voice actor, and director who created a Flash-based show known as Himitsu Kessha Taka no Tsume (Eagle Talon Secret Society). The show became an internet sensation in Japan and the studios came calling. Frogman got a TV deal, a movie deal, and rampant merchandising can't be far behind. Frogman's real name is Ryo Ono who set out to prove that with the right talent and ambition, an entire studio wasn't necessary to produce enticing works. Frogman expands his influence to video games this week with a collection of 20+ wacky mini-games which feature the characters from Frogman's Eagle Talon and Kofun Gyaru no Coffy animated serials.

Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann + Bonus DVD - In Stock

It's been a while since Gainax has developed a new property. The company has been coasting along on the winds of the wildly successful Evangelion series which has permeated Japanese culture for the better part of a decade. Earlier this year, Gainax released Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann on TV Tokyo and captured a reasonably strong viewership. As is common with popular franchises, the seeding of other forms of media follows the primary property and we get a crack at the portable video game version this week. The NDS action-adventure follows the storyline of the animation but introduces new characters and stylus-based interaction sequences commingled with action-packed fire fights. «more»

Ar Tonelico II - In Stock

Embark on a new adventure where a lad named Kuroa Vatel and a lassie by the name of Cocona Vatel (not related) team up with Revatails in a bid to free their world from oppression and infection. A centuries old disease dubbed "I.P.D." still lingers and afflicts the Revatails and the general populace with its killing malaise. As a result of the spreading contagion, the governing body known as the Daishudo has commanded its knights to slay anyone infected with I.P.D. in a "take no prisoners" policy of mass extermination.

As the story begins, Kuroa Vatel is under the employ of the Daishudo and he indiscriminately kills a young woman who's infected with I.P.D. to the horror of the victim's mother. As her cries break through the air, Kuroa reflects on what he's done and begins to have misgivings about the Daishudo's tactics and ways of handling the disease. Kuroa's introspection eventually leads him on an adventure of exploration and discovery as he fights alongside Revatails to find a better solution to the I.P.D. problem. While the new storyline bears no ties to the first game, the game systems, song magic, and nocturnal "dives" return for another go. «more»

Baldr Bullet Equilibrium - In Stock

Sometime in the near future, the South American rain forest serves as the backdrop of a war between two factions - those who support the Baldr governing technology and those who don't. To ensure that the skirmishes and conflicts don't expand, the BS-OSA or Baldr System - Observation Structure Army is set up to police the region. Inside the Army is a special unit known as SERR14 (Observation Structure Army South American Experimental Riot Regiment the 14th) which is comprised of elite soldiers and operatives such as Sergey Kirkland and Dullahan Cuningham.

Originally released on the PC, Baldr Bullet Equilibrium is an action-adventure which features interaction snippets that are mixed with fast-paced 2D battlefield action where mechs rumble on single-screen encounters. The game features full voice acting, updated BGM, three new introductory cinemas, and cut scenes to spice up the visual presentation. The mech that you control doesn't trudge around like a normal motorized biped but rather skates around in fluid motion whilst attacking enemy mechs that conglomerate around him like fruitflies to a slice of moldy peach. At the outset of the game, the player's mech is fitted with a gun, bombs, and missiles but a vast arsenal awaits. «more»

» Original soundtrack with BGM tracks and a remix of the opening theme song "R-G-B" by Haruko Momoi.

FIVB Volleyball World Cup - In Stock

The first round of the FIVB Women's World Cup 2007 kicks off on November 2, 2007 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium and Spike front runs the event with their release of Volleyball World Cup: Venus Evolution. The cost of the game stands at JPY6800 but we would have priced it at JPY4800 to better reflect the market reality and potential of the product. Alas, the cost of official licensing is dear and Spike had to recoup the bulk of their investment from retail sales. The other source of revenue that Spike was able to obtain was in-game advertising from Mikasa Sports, the Japan Volleyball Association, and Fuji Television. The FIVB World Cup banner also rings the arena.
The Japan Women's Volleyball Team is the featured squad in the game which means their likenesses are recreated in the game in fairly decent fashion. We can sort of recognize super players like
Miyuki Takahashi and the five freshmen of the 18-player team: Akiko Ino, Masayo Eguchi, Midori Takahashi, Shuka Oyama and Yuki Ishikawa. Finally, coach Shoichi Yanagimoto also appears in the game. The international teams that made it to the World Cup are all in attendance and players may enjoy an Exhibition Mode, the World Cup Mode, or a World Championship Mode.

Sega Ages 2500: Virtual On - In Stock

The original Virtual On coin-op was released in 1995 and dazzled gamers with its fast mech action and crystal clean visuals. Sega built the game on the Sega Model 2B hardware which ran on an Intel 32-bit processor running at 25MHz along with a SHARC FPU co-processor. Fast forward over a decade later and Sega ports the original Virtual On game over to the Playstation 2 intact and with goodies galore on the CD.

Virtual On features eight mechs known as Virtuaroids as designed by Hajime Katoki. There's the dashing blue-white armored MBV-04-G Temjin which is armed with a lance, the powerful HBV-05-E Raiden, the bulky and brawny HBV-10-B Dorkas, and of course, the lone "girlish" mech in the whole group - the SRV-14-A Fei Yen which is a fast and flighty machine.
In the arcades, Virtual On was fitted with twin stick controllers which were operated with both hands on each stick. When Virtual On was ported over to the Saturn and Dreamcast, Sega created special Twin Stick controllers for the home console market. The control scheme is recreated faithfully on the PS2 by way of the Dual Shock 2 thumbsticks which work well where the mechs respond dutifully to a gamer's tugs. «more»
