Shooting Watch - Japan Preorder

How quickly can you tap two buttons repetitively within a 10 second time span? Some game fiends can rev their fingers up to 16 hits per second for a tap-total of 160 slaps in 10 seconds. The gaming elite can do 21 hits per second. Fear them.

Over 20 years ago, Hudson gave gamers a chance to measure their button-tapping proficiency with the Shooting Watch but that was a while ago. A new production has been announced and preorders are welcome to ship on December 18, 2008 at JPY1600 or US$18.90 from NCS. Note: The Shooting Watch may also be used as a clock and a stopwatch.

Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann Yoko MMS Figure - New

When it comes to posable consumer toys from Japan, NCS is of the opinion that Max Factory's Figma series lords over Kaiyodo's Revoltech and Konami's MMS lines. They're all good but Figma has an edge in terms of quality and ease of posing. It's a shame that Yoko Ritona of Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann fame hasn't been Figma-tized yet but until that happens, we have Yoko MMS. Last year, Konami released a "Multi-Movable System" version of Yoko which sold out fairly quickly but Konami ships a reproduction of the figure for fans who were late to the party.

The MMS version of Yoko measures 15cm tall and features jointed limbs so the figure may be posed in a variety of action stances. In addition to the figure, a rifle accessory is included in the package so Yoko can ape Rambo or Arnold before he went into politics. An extra face and hair, two extra pairs of hands, and a mini mole-mascot named Buta are also included.

Wrestle Angels 2: Survivor 2 - Japan Preorder

Japanese fans of women's wrestling and animation first got a taste of Wrestle Angels in 1992 on the PC-9801. Developer Tryfirst and publisher Success ship a sequel later this year where players manage, coach, and guide a league of professional women wrestlers. The game features over 120 wrestlers including a kick-boxing ginger named Makoto Kondou, an aspiring young grappler named Kazuki Aiba, and a cool-headed technical wrestler named Toshimi Minami.

Tryfirst hired over 50 voice actresses to provide speech for the wrestlers to add extra spirit and verve. The in-ring action is played in flick-action interaction sequences where players choose a move for the wrestler and watch it play out on the screen. Preorders ship on November 6, 2008. A limited edition is available.

Koisuru Purin! Koi wa Daibouken! Dr. Kanmi no Yabou!? - Preorder

Hiromu Shinozuka's Koisuru Purin! is brought to life with Tryfirst's side scrolling platform game which features a heroine named Tomoya Masuzawa and a living pudding who answers to Purin. The two traipse through various levels together as a cooperative team. Each end-level features a boss which must be defeated before the duo continues onwards to the next stage.
Early preorders will ship with a bonus Purin-chan handkerchief as shown to the right.

Yamitsuki Shokan! Hami Gyu Body - Japan Preorder

Japanese toy manufacturer Epoch has started preorders for gashapon toys which feature bosoms made of PVC. Six styles are on offer as follows:

» A full bosom that jiggles when moved in black, red, and blue brassieres
» A flat bosom that refuses to move in white, yellow, and purple bikinis

Are the toys sexist? No doubt.

All preorders will ship in mid-late December 2008 at US$19.90/set. Although the toys are normally sold randomly in gashapon dispensers in Japan, NCS will gather together all six and sell them in a complete set.
