Agarest Senki Zero + Bonus Fan - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» The first Agarest Senki game sold reasonably well in Japan and apparently did well enough to engender a prequel which ships this week in Japan. Agarest Senki is a mix of interactive sequences between cast members and tactical turn-based battles where the protagonist and party face off against enemy forces and creatures. Similar to the first Agarest game, players start off with one hero but by way of the "Soul Breeding" system and hookups with an chosen heroine, further generations may be spawned to continue the bloodline. Interactive sequences are played to improve the connection with a heroine and when it's time for "breeding," the attributes of a girl and the hero himself are passed on to the offspring.

Special events during the course of the game are also triggered from time to time to move the hero's relationships along and strengthen the feelings between a couple as governed by the "Feeling Tension System." In essence then, the hero finds love on the home front but out in the world at large, there's a war to be fought which provides a substantial counterweight for the protagonist to endeavor through.

Agarest Senki Zero Limited Ed. - New Import, Sold Out

«©NCSX» The first Agarest Senki game sold reasonably well in Japan and apparently did well enough to engender a prequel which ships this summer. Agarest Senki is a mix of interactive sequences between cast members and turn-based tactical battles where the protagonist and party face off against enemy forces and creatures. Similar to the first Agarest game, players start off with one hero but by way of the "Soul Breeding" system and hookups with an chosen heroine, further generations may be spawned to continue the bloodline. Interactive sequences are played to improve the connection with a heroine and when "breeding," the attributes of a girl and the hero himself are passed on to the offspring. That's how it is in real life, y'know with genetics and all... Special events during the course of the game are also triggered from time to time to move the hero's relationships along and strengthen the feelings between a couple as governed by the "Feeling Tension System."

The limited edition of Agarest Senki Zero includes a Original Game Soundtrack CD which contains voice actor and actress interviews and a 300-piece jigsaw puzzle which features artwork of the cast of characters.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» BlazBlue is a recent coin-op release which wings its way to the Japanese Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 this week. The original game was built on Taito Type-X2 hardware and featured the use of four buttons to pound out attacks. Three buttons are used for weak, medium, and strong attacks along with a fourth "Drive" button which pulses out a super attack.

Join Ragna the Bloodedge, Jin Kisaragi, and Noel Vermillion as they face off against a motley assortment of fighters who seem oddly familiar. If you look at the design of Iron Tagar, he looks awfully like Potemkin from Guilty Gear X while Bang Shishigami is sorta like Sol-Badguy. If we squint, Haku=Men could be mistaken for Justice. The character similarities shouldn't be much of surprise however since BlazBlue is the successor to the Guilty Gear X franchise from ArcSys. Toshimichi Mori is the lead designer for BlazBlue and 12 fighters are featured in the game who fight on sharp and brilliantly colored 2D stages. The presentation hearkens back to Arc System's GGX series with bright visual polish, snappy animation, bold voices, and feverish action that's executed with nary a hiccup.

Rorona no Atelier - New Import, Restock Soon

«©NCSX» The Atelier franchise from Gust launched in 1997 with Atelier no Marie and the brand has endured for over a decade. There's been Ateliers named Lilie, Elie, Judie, and more. The latest girl to join the cast is a lassie named Rorona whose look is somewhat reminiscent of Kurarara Hananokouji (aka Clara) from the Power Instinct series. In the game, Rorona plies her alchemy skills to synthesize new and possibly wondrous items. Before she can do that however, she'll have to interact with citizens to learn about the world and explore the local environs to find ingredients and reagents. Atelier no Rorona features cel-shaded visual styling for a crisp and color-saturated look that's pleasing to the eye. On the audio side, the soundtrack from Ken Nakagawa sounds great and we're looking forward to the original soundtrack for Rorona. Gust hired actors and actresses to provide the voices for the cast of characters.

Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta - New, In Stock

«©NCSX» The arcade version of Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta was released on Naomi cartridge last summer at the price of JPY178,000. There was no way we were paying nearly US$2000 for a cartridge-based game but we did pick up a used copy from an operator for about $600. The price of admission gets even better this week when G.Rev ships an Xbox 360 conversion for roughly US$60.

The game follows the adventures of a lad named Tomoka Mamoru who's been involved in a car accident. After he's hit by a speeding vehicle, his soul is immediately spirited to the underworld by a priestess who calls herself Fululu Jigokudani. As the story goes, the gateway to the underworld is under attack and the spirits who reside there have been cursed by malevolent forces. Since Fululu can't fight the oppression by herself, she has summoned Mamoru and three other heroes to fight on the underworld's behalf. The summoned protagonists are:

» Tomoka Mamoru - A grade school student who enjoys baseball
» Miyuki Mayuno - Passive girl with no memory of her previous life
» Narai Kinya - High school rebel with a yen for riding motorcycles
» Higatera Beniko - A posh young lady who seems to enjoy the underworld

Upon starting the game, the camera settles on a revolving tree which is what Fululu conspired with to bring Mamoru and company to the underworld. Players may select any of the five heroes who differ in their firing patterns which is shown on the lower right corner of the character selection screen. For example, Mamoru shoots straight ahead while Beniko fires her shots in a outwards radiating arc. Fululu is also a straight shooter but her shots are governed by orbiting spheres which give her shots a bit of a twist. Although Mamoru-kun is a shooter which features vertically scrolling stages, some stages share commonalities with the old school run 'n gun games such as Commando, Ikari Warriors, or Guerilla War. In these stages, the characters walk around on the ground and players move at their own pace instead of being continually forced upwards. You can walk left, stop, shoot, walk right, shoot, stop, and then move upwards towards the inevitable end-level boss.

The Xbox 360 home conversion will feature updated graphics, two new Arcade Mode playable characters (downloadable), a Practice Mode, a new Story Mode, and a Gallery. The regular edition arrived today along with a limited edition package which includes a Soundtrack CD and a Superplay DVD that's produced by INH of Insanity DVD fame.

Valhalla Knights 2 Battle Stance - New Import, In Stock

As she begins to wreak havoc and ignite billowing explosions, a cloaked figure dares to oppose the Goddess and launches a crystalline attack upon the gigantic deity. When that first strike is warded off with no damage to the Goddess, the cloaked attacker tries another tack. She draws upon herself and summons a mighty sword which appears above the Goddess. Using all of her power, she launches the sword in a rotary spin which chops off one of the Goddess' wings. Wounded and clearly perturbed, the Goddess' path of destruction is halted and she folds her remaining wings above herself for a lengthy slumber. That was a thousand years ago. Capcom Girls Poison Reflect Black Ver - New, In Stock

«©NCSX» In the original Japanese Final Fight game, three heroes named Cody, Guy, and Haggar went on a mission to rescue Haggar's daughter Jessica from the Mad Gear gang. There were memorable enemy bosses and underlings in the game including Rolento, Sodom, and of course, Poison and Roxy. P&R were biker chicks who wore short shorts and bikinis... not on the beach but in the hood. Poison was memorable for her hot pink hair and acrobatic kicks where she somersaulted and smacked Cody and company around. Despite having the face of an angel, Poison was lethal.

Masauzi Yoshizawa of REFLECT originally created Poison as a garage kit which was followed by a finished PVC figure version. For the third incarnation, Poison now sports blonde hair and wears a black micro skirt. The figure is set at 1/6 scale and measures 28cm (11.02") tall from her spiky heels to the top of her removable cap. A pair of handcuffs is included in the product packaging to serve as a nifty accessory. Poison's eyes are light-green and accentuated by pink eye shadow. All orders ship today.
