TOYS Game & Watch Mini Solar Keychain - Import Preorder

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Video games, MTV, and computers for the masses came into their own in the 1980s and growing up during that period was a wonderful time. Kids who were introduced to computers in the 80s got to experience the internet revolution as it sparked, grew, and took over the world. Along with the technological innovations witnessed between 1980 and 2000, video games of every type, stripe, and class reached computers, consoles, portables, and phones.

Along with platform-based games, there were the Game & Watch dedicated handhelds which were originally released in 1980 by Nintendo. The Game & Watch toys offered players a simple gaming experience with single-minded objectives. For example, in the game Vermin, players had to whack moles while the aptly named Fire demanded that players rescue jumpers who were leaping from a burning building.

It's been a while since the Game & Watch handhelds were released but Takara Tomy is planning a revival. Sort of. The Game & Watch Mini Solar Keychains look like their larger forebears but they're miniature renditions that don't actually play any games. A solar panel is built into each keychain which powers the LCD screen which shows a short action sequence of a Game & Watch game. The buttons don't allow you to play the game and you'll only get to watch whatever happens on screen. The "Left" button is a dummy button and the "Right" button on the handheld may be pressed to change the graphics on screen. Three varieties are available for preorder as follows: Octopus, Parachute, and Chef. Reservations are welcome to ship in late March 2010 at JPY950 or US$13.90 each from NCS.

TOYS Portraits of Pirates Neo DX - Crocodile - Import Preorder

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» In the One Piece manga/animation series, Sir Crocodile aka Mr. 0 is the leader of Baroque Works, a criminal enterprise which was formed to take over the Arabasta Kingdom. By conquering Arabasta, Crocodile hoped to uncover the whereabouts of the "Pluton" weapon which was said to be hidden somewhere within the kingdom. Despite Croc's well planned machinations and directives for taking over Arabasta, he didn't count on the Straw Hat Pirates quashing his scheme.
Crocodile's induction in the Portrait of Pirates toys marks the first time a major villain has been sculpted in the series. Croc is shown with a sneer while his teeth are clenched on a cigar. He's wearing his thick overcoat with fur collar and the golden hook attached to his right arm is raised like some sort of trophy. The figure is fixed-pose and the overcoat may be removed. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late June 2010.

TOYS Portraits of Pirates Strong Edition Brook - Import Preorder

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Brook was originally from the "Rumba Pirates Musical Group" but joins Luffy and company to become the eighth member of the Straw Hat Pirates. Brook's special vocation is music and entertains his fellow shipmates with gracious melodies.

The "Strong Edition" version of Brook depicts the skeletal musician in his natty black duds while holding his cane/weapon which he has detached. Maybe he's preparing for battle. A musket is slung across his back and Brook completes the ensemble with a top hat. A special feature that's built into the figure is Brook's hinged head which may be opened on the side. A base is included with the figure for display purposes. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late June 2010.

TOYS Portraits of Pirates Strong Edition Sanji - Import Preorder

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Sanji is a skilled fighter but that's not all. He's also an excellent cook (much to Luffy's delight) and can whip up a tasty meal at a moment's notice. Before joining the Straw Hat Pirates, Sanji worked on a floating restaurant called the Baratie which was established by his mentor Red Leg Zeff. Whenever pirates are lost and chance upon the Baratie, they can climb aboard for a meal and perhaps a respite from the rigors of the sea. Sanji made an appearance in the first Portrait of Pirates Series 2 along with Usopp and Nico Robin. The Strong Edition version of Sanji depicts Sanji as a cool cat who wears a blue shirt with white polka dots, a lean jacket, and shiny pants. A cigarette is clenched between Sanji's gritted teeth and his shabby blonde hair drop downwards to cover his left eye. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late June 2010.

BAR Final Fantasy Clear Glass Cup - Import Preorder

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Liven up a drink with a Final Fantasy Clear Glass Cup from Square Enix. The drink won't taste any different but the colorful artwork of a Moogle, Chocobo, or Sabotender will liven things up. Don't ask how or why. Just know that they do. Each glass measures W80 x D80 x H155mm and holds roughly 8 ounces of juice, water, or other liquid refreshment.
NCS' experience with importing glass from Japan hasn't been particularly good. In every shipment of glass, there's generally a 10% destruction rate due to the way that couriers and handlers treat the packages. We've also learned to never label a package as "Fragile: Glass" because those are the ones that are seemingly targeted for serious mishandling. The word "Fragile" is a code word for "Destroy Me." Preorders ship in June 2010.

NEWS General Updates

TOYS Revoltech Series 86 Professor Layton - Arrival
The
first few batches of the Professor Layton Revoltech figure have begun to arrive and we'll begin processing and shipping preorders today. The remainder of the Layton shipments should be delivered within the next 1-2 days and we'll post a proper website update tomorrow. One of the variant hands included in the Layton package is attached to a cup so you can recreate Layton sipping tea while seated at the included table and chair props.
A 10 point "Revochip" is included in the packaging. If you collect enough Revochips, you can redeem them for storage cases, Revopliers, and other prizes in Japan. They chips look like they'd be easy to counterfeit but we're fairly certain cloned Revochips won't be a problem.
